The shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut where 20 beautiful angels and 7 dedicated teachers lost their lives earlier today and last week the killing of a Pakistani restaurant owner in Durham, North Carolina has crushed and devastated me. These children were my children, your children, and our children. The teachers were our brothers and sisters. The owner was also my brother and yours. I don’t know where to begin and where to end.
The strategic win of President Obama for the second term has defeated the big money from Super PAC who spent billions to defeat him. The people, however divided may be, have made it clear that United States will lead free and democratic world by practicing democratic principles in their own country. It is also a sign that America is changing, racially, gender wise, and socially, bringing it more closer to the rest of the world.
What it means for Pakistan?
These and other many questions are yet to be answered. A helping hand or a decisive force, what role Obama will play only time will tell.

The recent floods in Pakistan are the worst natural disaster in recent times. UN estimates that the extent of damage through these floods is larger than what we witnessed in the Asian Tsunami, Haitian and Pakistani earthquakes combined. Twenty million people have been affected by these floods and billions of dollars in private property, crops and industries are lost.
